Shoreham Port has opened bookings for their July boat tours. The ‘behind-the-scenes’ tours will be
running from Tuesday 3rd to Friday 6th July. Tickets are free of charge and can be booked online via
the Port’s website at www.shoreham-port.co.uk/Boat-Tours.

The boat tours provide the Port with a fantastic opportunity to connect with its stakeholders whilst
offering a fun and educational experience for people of all ages.

The tours have grown in popularity each year since they started in 2015 and Shoreham Port is
delighted to be running the event again this year. Last year over 1,400 people attended from local
schools, community associations, charities, business groups and individuals who all enjoyed a tour
along the canal, followed by a complimentary ice cream and hot drink.

The tour takes place on board a large touring boat called Rosanne. The boat can hold up to 60
passengers per trip. The tour lasts for approximately 45 minutes and includes a running commentary
from a member of the team at Shoreham Port. The tours are suitable for everyone, with the morning
slots allocated to local schools and the afternoon tours suitable for adults.

The tours depart along the south side of the canal past the terminals where depending on the
weekly shipping movements, you could see a vessel being loaded or discharged and catch a glimpse
of one of the impressive Sennebogen cranes in action. You will see the various businesses operating
on the Port and the diverse range of cargoes. The second half of the tour sails back along the north
side of the canal. Key historic sites will be pointed out and questions are welcome at all times during
the tour.

Katie MacAllister, Marketing & Communications Manager at Shoreham Port commented “We’re
really excited about this year’s boat tours after how successful they have been in previous years and
the positive feedback we have received from the community. We are hoping for sunny weather but
we’ll have a fantastic time come rain or shine! We look forward to seeing everyone in July.”
