On Friday 1st November at The Pavilion, Worthing, the winners of the 12th Adur & Worthing Business Awards were announced and celebrated at a glittering awards ceremony.

The sell-out event was attended by over 370 guests all representing local businesses and included the town’s Mayor – Hazel Thorpe, Chairman of Adur District Council – Councillor George Barton, and Tim Loughton MP as well as other distinguished guests and Council delegates.

The Adur & Worthing Business Awards is one of the most prestigious events in the local business calendar and with over 1,000 entries and nominations received, made 2019 a record-breaking year.  Attendees from the business world were entertained during the ceremony, as writer and broadcaster Simon Fanshawe OBE took the reins to host the event.  During the three-course dinner prepared by Hardings Catering Services, guests were treated to a surprise performance from Encore Entertainment which set the scene for the evening ahead.

Run as a not-for-profit organisation, the Adur & Worthing Business Awards are organised by a committee of successful local business people from organisations including Electronic Temperature Instruments Ltd (ETI), JSPC Computer Services, Seagull Travel, Worthing & Adur Chamber of Commerce and Adur & Worthing Councils.

Overall Business Winner 2019
Winners and finalists came together from all parts of Adur & Worthing and the coveted ‘Overall Business of the Year’ Award was presented to a triumphant FermionX Ltd.  FermionX live and breathe complex electronic manufacturing projects and have been delivering electronic manufacturing expertise for over 30 years, in Worthing.

Lifetime Achievement Award 2019 

This year Richard John (Richard John Hair & Beauty Company) was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Richard is a well-known and widely respected member of the local business community and has been a part of the fabric of Worthing since 1974

His businesses, Richard John Hair & Beauty Company (which celebrates 45 years in business this year) and Richard John Academy have been built on a principle of quality of service and continue to bring employment and wealth to the area.
