Started by Kate Honey, Mint Design Studio provides a design, development, production and coordination service for websites, branding, promotional print and marketing strategy. The Studio is based in Worthing and has been trading since 1994. Having recently successfully applied for a Small Business Grant, Kate explains
“I belong to the Chamber’s Peer Mentoring Group, and Tina Tilley, CEO of the Chamber, informed me about the grant scheme being offered through the AWBP and Worthing Council at our monthly meeting. This was of interest to me as I needed funding towards technical equipment for a brand new service idea that I was putting together.
I found the process of finding further details and the appropriate application form to complete online, was straightforward. My grant application was specifically for the purchase of an Apple MacBook Pro which will help me to provide a brand new service offer – a Mobile Studio – specifically for busy commercial offices who need their website, marketing materials and social media managed but who don’t have capacity or want the overheads of a full-time member of staff.
Businesses can book the Mobile Design service for a weekly, 3 to 7 hour commission. Using our own technical equipment (computer and software) to create the graphic design, we work at the customer’s business site, so as to be able to respond efficiently to their requirements and work as part of their team.
The grant has enabled me to launch this new service quickly, and has already inspired me to further develop the Mobile Design idea – where ultimately, Mint will have a team of designers who can deliver the Mobile Design Studio service.”
